BTU & Gas Facts

What is a BTU?
A BTU, or British Thermal Unit, is a basic measure of thermal (heat) energy. It is the amount of energy needed to cool or heat one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit at a constant pressure. We use BTUs to measure the energy output and gas usage per month of French Market Gas Lanterns.
How much gas is needed to produce 1000 BTUs of energy?
1 = 1000

Effective & Efficient
Of the major sources of energy in the United States, natural gas is the cleanest, most efficient, cost effective, and abundant, producing less pollution and fewer greenhouse gases than its counterparts.

Natural Gas emits
45%
Less CO2 than electricity

Less Waste
Bulbs are hard to recycle and most of them end up in landfills.
